Volleyball Game Preview: Beaver Local Beavers vs. Union Local Jets

Beaver Local is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Saturday. They will square off against the Union Local Jets at 5:00 p.m. Beaver Local is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Beaver Local barely beat Oak Glen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Beavers put the hurt on the Golden Bears with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Beavers have posted against the Golden Bears since October 12, 2021.

Beaver Local not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Oak Glen between 16 and 19 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-19.

Union Local won the last time they faced St. Clairsville and Laken Vinskovich did her part to make sure it happened again. The Jets blew past the Red Devils 3-0 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Vinskovich, who hit 70.8% for 17 kills and 21 digs and one block. She has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 13 times she's played.

Union Local walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13, 25-17.

Beaver Local's win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Union Local, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Beaver Local might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Union Local in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Beavers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
