While Plainville's victory against New Britain wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Golden Hurricanes 3-2. The game was the first time the Blue Devils have beaten the Golden Hurricanes on their court since September 23, 2016.

Plainville took New Britain into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 20-25, 23-25, 25-9, 15-9.

Olivia Carter paced Plainville's offense, picking up 20 kills. Carter got some help from Kaitlyn Landry and her 15 assists. Sadie Brann controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Despite the defeat, New Britain had strong showings from Mia Zayas, who had 22 digs and one assist, and Olivia Dupont, who had 13 assists and 11 digs. Zayas has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

Plainville's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for New Britain, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-7.

Plainville has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Rocky Hill on the 6th. As for New Britain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Weaver on the 2nd.
