Basketball Recap: Southeast Comes Up Short

After flying high against Guernsey-Sunrise last Saturday, Southeast came back down to earth. The Southeast Cyclones took a blow against the Pine Bluffs Hornets on Friday, falling 78-43. The Cyclones haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Several Cyclones players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ayden Desmond, who posted 12 points. Desmond has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was TJ Moats, who put up ten points and eight rebounds.

Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Pine Bluffs, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Southeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-43 loss against Niobrara County on the 15th. As for Pine Bluffs, they will head out to square off against Wheatland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Pine Bluffs' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
