On Thursday, Escondido had to settle for second even though Olive Lazenby put up the best numbers she has all season. Lazenby had ten digs and five aces, good enough to set a new career-high in aces in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: she has now served two or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
Lazenby and Escondido will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Valley Center at 6:00 p.m. on October 16th.
