Basketball Recap: Newkirk Comes Up Short

Newkirk was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were dealt a 65-20 defeat at the hands of the Blackwell Maroons. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Newkirk's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Blackwell, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-8.

Newkirk will host Pawhuska at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blackwell, they will head out to take on Tonkawa at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Blackwell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
