Baseball Recap: Lecanto Takes a Loss

Lecanto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tarpon Springs Spongers.

Lecanto's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Tarpon Springs, they moved to 8-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lecanto Panthers duke it out with Dunnellon Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tarpon Springs, they will face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tarpon Springs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
