The Midland Rebels are taking a road trip to square off against the Notre Dame Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Midland will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Midland is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 16-10 margin over Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Andrew Martin made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-5. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
In other pitching news, Jaxson Scott looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Karson Thibodeaux, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Brandon Humble also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Midland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, while Notre Dame put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for DeQuincy. Notre Dame sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over DeQuincy. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.
Notre Dame pushed their record up to 14-10 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Midland, their record is now 5-8.
Midland might still be hurting after the 18-0 defeat they got from Notre Dame in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can Midland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
