Johnston had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the East Moline United Panthers. Given Johnston's advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 14th in Iowa, while East Moline United are ranked 74th in Illinois) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Johnston's victory bumped their record up to 6-3-2. As for East Moline United, they moved to 11-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Johnston wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Linn-Mar on the 3rd. As for East Moline United, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-0 victory against Galesburg on the 6th.
