Karter Gonzalez and Co. Win Sixth in a Row

Hesston picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Karter Gonzalez. Gonzalez rushed for 232 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Hesston pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Gonzalez and Hesston will host Riley County on Friday.

Haven Gets a Boost from Wray in 49-7 Victory

Nash Wray was a major factor in Haven's victory over Belle Plaine on Friday. Wray turned in nothing short of a gem, throwing for 197 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 62 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

This season, Wray has thrown 13 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 159.8 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had seven passing touchdowns.

Creed Came Up Big in Halstead's 31-13 Victory

Halstead found a leader in Braxton Creed as the squad took down Ellsworth on Friday. Creed turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while also throwing for 137 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Halstead's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. Creed and Halstead will challenge Southeast of Saline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Taye Wilson Turns in Another Game with at Least Two Rushing Touchdowns

Taye Wilson continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fifth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least two rushing touchdowns. He rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 43 receiving yards.

On the year, Wilson has run in 13 touchdowns while averaging 126.7 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 49.33 rushing yards per game.

Teron Kraft Turns in Season-Best Effort

Hoisington was led to victory by Teron Kraft, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Kraft rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in November of 2023. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making six total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Lakin's probably not too fond of Kraft given he always seems to get the better of them. Kraft rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries the last time he and the Broncs duked it out back in October of 2023.
