Basketball Recap: Seaforth Takes a Loss

Seaforth lost against Northwood back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Seaforth Hawks had to suffer through a 69-40 loss at the hands of the Northwood Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Chargers are ranked 43rd).

Leading Northwood to victory were Cam Fowler and Chad Graves. Fowler went 7 of 11 on his way to 23 points in addition to seven boards and four steals, while Graves went 7 for 9 en route to 17 points along with five assists and four blocks. Fowler's evening made it 18 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Beau Harvey was another key player, putting up five points along with seven assists and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Seaforth and nudges their season record down to 9-10. As for Northwood, their victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seaforth will head out to square off against North Moore at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwood, they are taking a road trip to challenge Graham at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
