Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Riley Rippetoe and Avery Fleeharty Lead Altamont to Victory

Altamont had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Cisne Runnin' Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Altamont got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-20.

Leading Altamont to victory were Avery Fleeharty and Riley Rippetoe. Fleeharty had 12 assists and five digs, while Rippetoe had nine digs and three blocks. Those 12 assists gave Fleeharty a new career-high.

Altamont's record now sits at 5-7-1. As for Cisne, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Altamont will head out to challenge Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cisne, they will venture away from home to face off against Flora on Saturday.
