Baseball Recap: McKinney Victorious

McKinney never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Plano West Wolves, sneaking past 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since March 7th.

Plano West's batters probably weren't too happy with Caleb Blackstock, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up two walks). Blackstock also allowed no hits, which is notable because McKinney is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 8-9 otherwise.

At the plate, McKinney's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brandt Hodges, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The win got McKinney back to even at 10-10. As for Plano West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6-1 record this season.

McKinney will head out to face off against Prosper at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Plano West, they will host Allen at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
