Baseball Recap: Reeths-Puffer Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Reeths-Puffer dropped their record down to 4-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Mona Shores Sailors by a score of 6-5. If the Rockets were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Sailors when the teams met back in June of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Mona Shores, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games.

For Mona Shores' part, Naji Monroe looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Mona Shores' win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Owen Tornga, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Eli Habetler also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

While Reeths-Puffer had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
