Currituck County is 0-5 against Grassfield since April of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. Currituck County will square off against Grassfield at 7:00 p.m. Currituck County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Currituck County didn't have quite enough to beat Manteo and fell 10-8. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Julianna Evans was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Kendra Daniels was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Currituck County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. This was only their first loss (out of six games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Grassfield didn't have quite enough to beat Great Bridge on Friday and fell 6-5.

Braelyn Bailey put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Bailey was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double.

In other batting news, EG Hatcher made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Binder, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Currituck County's record now sits at 5-4. As for Grassfield, their record is now 1-1.

Currituck County couldn't quite finish off Grassfield in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can Currituck County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
