Travelers Rest had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Eastside Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Devildogs were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Eagles, so the Devildogs were just returning the favor.

While Travelers Rest won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22.

Eastside's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Travelers Rest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Crescent on the 26th. As for Eastside, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Spartanburg on the 28th.
