Basketball Recap: Everglades Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Everglades Prep Academy lost against Keys Gate back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Panther were dealt a 61-23 defeat at the hands of the Knights. That's two games in a row now that the Panther have lost by exactly 38 points.

Sebastian Matilla went supernova For Keys Gate., almost dropping a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Matilla's third in a row with at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Chavez, who posted ten points and four steals.

Everglades Prep Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Keys Gate, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Everglades Prep Academy will square off against Somerset Academy South Homestead at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Keys Gate, they will face off against Westminster Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 70.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
