Baseball Recap: Golden West Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Golden West and Wasco squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Golden West had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6. The Trailblazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

David Rodriguez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Jaythan Loza was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Golden West has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season. As for Wasco, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-8.

Golden West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wasco, they have already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Pioneer Valley on the 23rd.
