Basketball Recap: Worthington Kilbourne Falls Despite Big Games from Oliviah Wilkerson and Audrey Bennett

If Worthington Kilbourne was riding high fresh off their 56-28 takedown of Fairbanks last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Worthington Kilbourne Wolves took a 53-37 bruising from the Bishop Hartley Hawks on Friday. The Wolves' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Worthington Kilbourne had strong showings from Audrey Bennett, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards, and Oliviah Wilkerson, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds. Bennett is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last nine games she's played.

Even though they lost, Worthington Kilbourne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Worthington Kilbourne's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Bishop Hartley, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Worthington Kilbourne will head out to challenge Westerville North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Hartley, they will venture away from home to face off against Genoa Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
