Basketball Game Preview: Council Grove Braves vs. McLouth Bulldogs

The Council Grove Braves will venture away from home to take on the McLouth Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Council Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.

Council Grove is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Rock Creek on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Council Grove took a blow against Rock Creek, falling 79-44. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite their defeat, Council Grove saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Finn Gant, who went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Gant has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Kepley, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 14 points.

Meanwhile, McLouth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 58-42 to Oskaloosa.

McLouth's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Council Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
