Baseball Game Preview: Sanderson Spartans vs. Broughton Capitals

Sanderson is 1-9 against Broughton since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Sanderson will be playing at home against Broughton at 4:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Friday just wasn't the day for Sanderson's offense. They lost 12-0 to Athens Drive on Friday.

Meanwhile, Broughton also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Ashley on Saturday, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Capitals were not able to get on the board.

Broughton's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5. As for Sanderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Sanderson might still be hurting after the 12-4 loss they got from Broughton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Sanderson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
