 Independence entered their tilt with Lutheran West with eight consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with nine. They put the hurt on the Lutheran West Longhorns with a sharp  9-3 win on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Independence also won the last time the pair played  last Monday.
  Cy Jolliffe made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits. Jolliffe was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI, a  stolen base,  and a  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Dom Narduzzi, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
