Football Recap: Peyton Bean and Thomas Holland Secure Win for Savannah Country Day

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Athens Academy, Savannah Country Day was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They snuck past the Porter-Gaud Cyclones with a 13-7 victory. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 23-3 win the Cyclones walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Leading Savannah Country Day to victory were Thomas Holland and Peyton Bean. Holland threw for 203 yards and a pair of TDs, while Bean picked up 141 receiving yards and two scores. The dominant performance also gave Holland a new career-high in rushing yards (101).

Savannah Country Day's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Porter-Gaud, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Savannah Country Day will venture away from home to face off against Bluffton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Porter-Gaud, they will take on Hammond at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Cyclones' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
