Basketball Recap: Williamsburg Comes Up Short

Williamsburg had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-2 to make it 11. They were beaten by the Bluegrass United Bluehawks 61-28. The Yellow Jackets were down 46-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

As for Bluegrass United, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Bluegrass United to victory were Mia Preston and Malora Moluf. Preston shot 64% from beyond the arc on her way to 21 points, while Moluf went 6-for-15 en route to 16 points and three steals. Those 21 points gave Preston a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophie Willen, who posted seven points and 11 rebounds.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamsburg will venture away from home to challenge Boone County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bluegrass United, they will square off against Powell County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
