Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Batavia

Batavia won the last time they faced Fayetteville-Perry and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Batavia Bulldogs snuck past the Fayetteville-Perry Rockets with a 53-47 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Rockets are ranked 82nd).

Fayetteville-Perry lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ryley Kleemeyer, who posted six points and 11 rebounds. Kleemeyer has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Baker, who had ten points.

Batavia's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Fayetteville-Perry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-2.
