Rocky Mount Prep triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Niylee Bullock

Recap: Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars vs. Wilson Prep Tigers

The Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They skirted past Wilson Prep 47-44. The victory was just what Rocky Mount Prep needed coming off of a 56-15 defeat in their prior match.

Niylee Bullock continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Rocky Mount Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rakia Brinkley, who scored eight points.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Niiyana Edwards, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edwards has scored all season. Janiya Johnson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds.

The win got Rocky Mount Prep back to even at 2-2. As for Wilson Prep, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky Mount Prep will take on North Edgecombe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Edgecombe presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rocky Mount Prep in North Carolina (North Edgecombe is ranked 216th, while Rocky Mount Prep is ranked 516th). As for Wilson Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwest Halifax at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Northwest Halifax's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Wilson Prep has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
