Baseball Recap: Grove Takes a Loss

Grove pushed their score to 17 the last time they played Inola, but on Monday they couldn't quite do it again. Grove fell just short of Inola by a score of 2-1. The Ridgerunners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Brady Dalton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Grove now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Inola, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

While Grove had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
