Baseball Game Preview: North Side Steers vs. Trimble Tech Bulldogs

North Side hasn't had much luck against Trimble Tech recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The North Side Steers will host the Trimble Tech Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.

North Side is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 9-2 to Trimble Tech.

For Trimble Tech's part, Mario Reyna was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, Reyna didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Nick Martinez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Trimble Tech is undefeated when Martinez posts two or more runs, but 4-5-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Castillo, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Trimble Tech is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. North Side's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
