Game recap: Mount St. Joseph falls to Calvert Hall after giving lead up late

Calvert Hall (Baltimore, Md.) grabbed the lead when Kevin Nickel ran for a touchdown with 2:00 remaining in the fifth quarter and held on to beat Mount St. Joseph (Baltimore, Md.) 29-21 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured three lead swaps.

The two teams were tied at 14 heading into halftime. The Cardinals took the lead for good on a Nickel touchdown run in the fifth quarter.

Calvert Hall's standout player in the win was Colar Kuhns. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns.

The Gaels' Bryan Jangro played well. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to three on the year.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 26-7 win for CH.



With the win the Cardinals extended their winning streak to four games.

Mount St. Joseph (3-3) will play a MIAA A game against Archbishop Spalding next week, while Calvert Hall (6-1) will take on McDonogh also in a MIAA A game.
