Volleyball Recap: Montini Catholic Comes Up Short on the Road Against Timothy Christian

Montini Catholic kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Timothy Christian Trojans by a score of 2-1. The Broncos have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Montini Catholic started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-17, 25-17.

Francesca Lorenzo paced Montini Catholic's offense, picking up nine kills. Lorenzo got some help from Avalyn DeKeyser and her 17 assists.

Kate Vogelzang was the offensive standout of the match as she had 11 digs and three assists. Those 11 digs gave her a new career-high.

Timothy Christian pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Montini Catholic has already played their next contest (against Oswego), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Timothy Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Parkview Christian Academy on the 29th.
