Volleyball Recap: Montini Catholic Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Montini Catholic had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Timothy Christian Trojans by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Broncos in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost five in a row.

Montini Catholic started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-17, 25-17.

Francesca Lorenzo paced Montini Catholic's offense, picking up nine kills. Lorenzo got some help from Avalyn DeKeyser and her 17 assists.

Timothy Christian's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Montini Catholic will be taking part in a tournament against Oswego at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Timothy Christian, they will take on Parkview Christian Academy in a tournament on Friday.
