Softball Recap: Hollister Comes Up Short

Hollister lost against Willow Glen back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Haybalers took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams.

Grace Peffley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Isabel Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Hollister's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Willow Glen, they pushed their record up to 20-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Hollister and Willow Glen should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Haybalers (ranked 162nd) will meet Palma (ranked 499th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Willow Glen will challenge Santa Teresa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (9 vs. 573).
