Basketball Recap: Freeport's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Freeport won the last time they faced Belvidere North, and Kal-El Sims did his part to make sure it happened again. The Freeport Pretzels skirted past the Belvidere North Blue Thunder 47-44 thanks in part to Sims, who went 9 for 14 en route to 19 points and six boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2023.

Freeport's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. As for Belvidere North, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

When Freeport and Belvidere North next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Freeport will face off against Crystal Lake South and their four-game winning streak at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Freeport is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season. Similarly, Belvidere North will try to stop McHenry's three-game winning streak when the meet at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
