After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Argenta-Oreana, Cumberland was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos with a sharp 9-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won four in a row.

Cumberland's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland will head out to take on Casey-Westfield at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, they will square off against Villa Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
