Baseball Recap: Vintage Sets Scoring Season-High Against Benicia

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vintage). They blew past the Benicia Panthers 10-4 on Tuesday. The Crushers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024.

Miles Henry looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dario Freschi, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Parker Dahl, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Vintage hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Vintage's record is now 4-2. As for Benicia, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-1 record.

When Vintage and Benicia next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Vintage will face off against Ukiah and their five-game winning streak at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Benicia will try to stop Petaluma's five-game winning streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
