Baseball Recap: Mt. Diablo Red Devils vs. Ygnacio Valley Wolves

Mt. Diablo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Ygnacio Valley Wolves, falling 10-2. The Red Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Johnny Vazquez was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Vazquez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Jerico Linville made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Mt. Diablo's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Ygnacio Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-3-1 record this season.

Mt. Diablo will challenge Tennyson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ygnacio Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Elite at 3:30 p.m.
