Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Crimsons vs. Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones
The Jacksonville Crimsons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 55-44 to Sacred Heart-Griffin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Jacksonville of the 60-37 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.

Jacksonville's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.
Jacksonville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Braves at 6:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Mt. Zion knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 matchups -- so hopefully the Crimsons like a good challenge. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, they will head out on the road to square off against the Railsplitters at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cyclones in Illinois (the Railsplitters are ranked 71st, while the Cyclones are ranked 291st).
