Lincoln typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Oakmont proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Fighting Zebras 4-2. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Fighting Zebras, too.

Jaylan Patterson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ayden Dringenberg was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Oakmont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln only managed five hits.

The win made it two in a row for Oakmont and bumps their season record up to 20-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Lincoln, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-6.

Oakmont will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Fighting Zebras: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
