The Nicholas County Grizzlies are taking a road trip to challenge the Shady Spring Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, Nicholas County beat Oak Hill 11-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.

Braden Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Ira Mylott was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Nicholas County is undefeated when Mylott posts three or more hits, but 5-7 otherwise. Caleb Burns was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Shady Spring was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 13-8 win over Independence.
Aiden Calvert and Aiden Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Calvert went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Brown got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Spencer Morgan also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Shady Spring is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Nicholas County, their record is now 10-7.
Nicholas County suffered a grim 20-7 defeat to Shady Spring in their previous matchup on April 9th. Can the Grizzlies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
