Baseball Recap: Pleasant Ridge Triumphs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pleasant Ridge). They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Ravens on Monday, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Austin Green was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Coben Hoppe was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Pleasant Ridge's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3-1. As for Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pleasant Ridge will face off against rival Horton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Valley Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
