Volleyball Recap: Cheylin Comes Up Short

Cheylin and Dighton squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Cheylin had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 2-1. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Cheylin sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-18, 21-25, 25-23.

Taylor McCarty paced Cheylin's offense, picking up 17 kills. McCarty got some help from Ashlyn Schields and her 28 assists. McCarty was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Cheylin's loss dropped their record down to 28-9. As for Dighton, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 28-12.

As of now, neither Cheylin nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
