Preview: Maclay vs. P.K. Yonge
Maclay is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while P.K. Yonge is on a eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Maclay Marauders will take on the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Maclay rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Stallions a 4-0 shutout. Give Maclay's defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.
They hit Providence School with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Jack Daunt (2),
Zac Scovotto, and
Luke Daunt.
Meanwhile, everything went P.K. Yonge's way against North Bay Haven Academy on Tuesday as P.K. Yonge made off with a 4-0 win.
Maclay is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-1-2 record this season. As for P.K. Yonge, their victory bumped their record up to 20-2.
Everything went Maclay's way against P.K. Yonge in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as Maclay made off with a 5-1 victory. With Maclay ahead 3-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
