McAllen's last matchup with Pioneer could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Diamondbacks, falling 19-6. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Leah Sorensen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

McAllen's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Pioneer, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

McAllen will head out on the road to take on Vela at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pioneer, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mission Veterans Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th.
