Basketball Recap: Green Sea Floyds Comes Up Short

Green Sea Floyds lost against Latta two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Green Sea Floyds Trojans fell 47-35 to the Latta Vikings. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Latta found their leader in sophomore Shayon Mcgruder, who went 10 for 17 on his way to 30 points and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mcgruder has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dezmond Bethea, who posted nine points.

Green Sea Floyds' loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Latta, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Sea Floyds will venture away from home to challenge Carvers Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Latta, they will head out to square off against Johnsonville at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
