Baseball Game Preview: Lakeside Dragons vs. Chardon Hilltoppers

The Lakeside Dragons will challenge the Chardon Hilltoppers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakeside has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lakeside is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Pymatuning Valley, falling 12-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 27, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Anthony Wooten made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Chardon got the win against Bay on Saturday by a conclusive 8-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hilltoppers.

Justin Smith was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Sintic, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Chardon, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.
