            Basketball Recap: Amherst Bulldogs vs. Whitharral Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            Amherst was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight  loss. They were dealt  a  66-23 defeat at the hands of the Whitharral Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  68-26  on January 10th.
 Whitharral was led to victory by  Brenton Robinson and  Nathaniel Sansom.  Robinson  went 11 for 16  en route to 28 points and three  steals, while  Sansom  dropped  a double-double on 18  points and 11  rebounds. Robinson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Damian Rodriguez, who  posted nine points and five  steals.
Amherst's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Whitharral, they pushed their record up to 16-6 with the  win, which was their 16th straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amherst will venture away from home to  take on Wellman-Union  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Whitharral, they will square off against Meadow at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday.
