Baseball Recap: Daviess County Takes a Loss

Daviess County scored first but ultimately less than Corbin in their contest on Thursday. They lost 16-6 to the Redhounds. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since May 11, 2024.

Logan Mewes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Howard, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Daviess County and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Corbin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Looking ahead, Daviess County will square off against Owensboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Corbin, they will challenge Choctawhatchee at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Redhounds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
