Soccer Recap: Saddle Brook Comes Up Short

Saddle Brook managed to keep up with Elmwood Park until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Falcons lost 4-1 to the Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Elmwood Park this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Saddle Brook has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Elmwood Park, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Saddle Brook and Elmwood Park will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Falcons see the pitch they'll take on Lodi at 7:00 p.m. on the 20th. As for Elmwood Park, their break will end when they face Leonia at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
