Softball Recap: Southern Nash's Undefeated Season over After 25 Games

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Southern Nash couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 5-0 to the South Johnston Trojans on Friday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Firebirds were not able to get on the board.

ANNA DICKINSON spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Southern Nash saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ALIYAH CROLL, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southern Nash fell to 24-1. As for South Johnston, the victory (which was their 23rd in a row) raised their record to 23-1.

As of now, neither Southern Nash nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
