Softball Recap: Lorena's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Lorena dropped their record down to 16-8 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 7-1 to the Robinson Rockets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-5 on Tuesday.

Isabella Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

As for Robinson, the win (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 26-2. Considering they have won 20 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Robinson's side, Raelynn Van Zee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. Van Zee has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lexi Rosillo and Reese Tate did most of the damage at the plate: Rosillo got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI, while Tate went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Peyton Richards was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

As of now, neither Lorena nor Robinson have any future games scheduled.
