Softball Recap: Franklinton Has No Trouble Against Northern Nash

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bunn, Franklinton was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Northern Nash Knights as they made off with a 15-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Red Rams, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kaylei Main and Madison Peebles did most of the damage at the plate: Main scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5, while Peebles scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits Peebles has posted since back in March of 2024. Bailey Jo Helton was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Franklinton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Franklinton's record now sits at 8-6. As for Northern Nash, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklinton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rocky Mount at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Northern Nash, they will take on Nash Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
